Eugene Community Rules v1.4 updated 4/19/06

1. The first rule of Eugene Community is: you do not talk about Eugene Community.

1. For entries several lines long, please consider using an LJ cut. Look at the size of other posts to help you determine if yours might be too large.

2. Please consider using an LJ cut for larger images, or for images that may be considered offensive. If the image might be considered offensive, please tack on a warning/disclaimer to the LJ cut. Posts with images that are simply too disgusting are subject to removal. (Understanding the subjectivity of the phrase "disgusting," I will try to ask other members how they feel about the image before deleting the post, however, anything from rotten.com and similar websites really just aren't okay. Don't even post them.)

3. Language in the case of swearing is allowed. However, I ask that you refrain from directing any of that swearing at members of the community.(i.e; don't call someone a fucker, bitch, shithead...) It's rude. (and something like "assface" will just be laughed at)

4. Debates are tentatively welcome. However, posts that are causing too much "trouble" are subject to freezing(locking the thread) or removal. When posting something for this purpose, or posting something that you think might LEAD to this, please use an LJ cut so that people can choose to read the controversial post. ( ...most of us will. :) )

5. Homophobic and/or anti-racial statements/slurs/phrases are not allowed. Sorry. Also, it has been requested that people refrain from abusing the phrase "god damn fucking hippies." I think that's a reasonable request.

6. Feel free to make personal posts that might not neccessarily pertain to the community(well, in moderation). But do add an LJ cut stating that it's personal so people won't respond with "what does this have to do with Eugene?"

7. A note on rants. According to the ideas I've set in my head, rants are allowed. However, perhaps rants targetting specific groups of people are best not posted. By this I mean, "I hate hippies/blacks/women/people named jerry." ...personally I don't think attacks on bikers/meter maids/and other groups of people defined solely by job/hobby are too big of a deal. But I guess we'll have to see.

8. Violation of the rules stated above will result in a warning or a banning. But since you never know which will happen, (for all you know I flip a coin to decide) I would suggest not violating the rules.

9. I can't believe I have to add this rule...but I'm going to start booting people that are excessively rude or insulting...FOR NO REASON... I don't just mean insulting me. I mean EVERYONE. If someone posts that it's too hot out, and you respond with "then you're a fucking pussy"...well ...it's bad.

* If you find yourself banned, and feel that I was totally wrong about my decision, please e-mail me and let me know.

** Information about LJ cuts can be found in the LiveJournal's FAQ.

*** Any suggestions on improving upon/removing these rules can be e-mailed to me, or posted in the community. Rule #5, however, will not be removed. Sorry.
